Riverside Explorer - Self Guided

Rivers run through the heart of Mid Wales, linking the mountains in the East with the rugged coastline in the West. This tour follows the course of two of these beautiful watercourses. A circular route takes in the source and upper reaches of the River Teifi, whilst a second navigates the River Ystwyth from its source to the coastal town of Aberystwyth. The highlight of these rides is the stunning scenery, with mountain passes, river gorges and lush green pasture. This leisurely tour takes you along quiet country lanes and cycle paths to the bustling towns of Lampeter and Aberystwyth where there are plenty of cafés to choose from. Our back-up vehicle will provide snacks, drinks and mechanical support on the road.  Your base for this tour is the market town of Tregaron at the foot of the Cambrian Mountains. You’ll be staying in a cosy, country inn renowned for its friendly welcome. Source to Sea – The River Teifi

With the Cambrian mountains in the East and the rugged coastline of Cardigan Bay in the West, Mid-Wales offers the full range of picturesque and stunning scenery. Connecting these are the rivers, which run through the heart of the region. This tour follows the course of the River Teifi from its source high in the Cambrian mountains to the Irish Sea. The highlight of this tour is the ever changing scenery. You will descend at a leisurely pace from a mountain top start, through quiet country lanes alongside lush green pasture before reaching the breathtaking coast. Your itinerary will offer you plenty of time to explore the history of the region as you pass through it including: bronze age settlements, medieval abbeys, woolen mills and the home of welsh coracle fishing. Your route will also give you the opportunity to stop off in the towns of Tregaron, Lampeter, Newcastle Emlyn and Cardigan. This tour includes a stopover at approximately half the distance along the river and an overnight stay in Cardigan at the end of day two where you can explore the historic town, Poppit Sands or the rugged coastline. The Lakes of Mid-Wales - Self Guided

Ystwyth Explorer

Spend a day cycling the beautiful Ystwyth Trail, an old railway line that winds its way from the historic market town of Tregaron in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains, through spectacular countryside towards the bustling seaside town of Aberystwyth. We'll join the Ystwyth trail at Trawscoed, and as we make our way down-stream you'll learn basic bike maintenance and handling skills, and get the opportunity to explore the wild world of river banks, hedgerows and woodlands. Our Ystwyth Trail activity pack has lots to occupy riders young and old, and there'll be a delicious home-made lunch waiting for you at the half-way point.
