Elan Valley Driver-Guided Day Trip

Consisting of five striking reservoirs built during the late 19th and early 20th century, this 70 square mile area of moorland, bog, woodland, river and reservoir is an internationally important wildlife site. We would recommend a stop made at the fascinating Elan Valley Visitor Centre, followed by a visit to the quaint Penbont House tea rooms. There are fantastic photographic opportunities on this trip, and it may be possible to see several different birds of prey, Kites and Buzzards are almost guaranteed, and ‘Eddie’ the Golden Eagle has been seen in this area. Hinterland Driver-Guided Day Trip

An Introduction to the uplands of Ceredigion! This tour is designed to introduce the ‘Hinterland’ of North Ceredigion in Mid-Wales where remote lakes, isolated farmsteads, the protected Red Kite, hanging oak woodland with Redstarts and Pied flycatchers, forestry and open moorland abound. Hinterland usually refers to the intermediate land between the valley bottom and the mountain tops and is the name of a popular crime noir drama filmed in the area; and this day trip will visit some of these stunning, atmospheric locations!
