An Introduction to the uplands of Ceredigion! This tour is designed to introduce the ‘Hinterland’ of North Ceredigion in Mid-Wales where remote lakes, isolated farmsteads, the protected Red Kite, hanging oak woodland with Redstarts and Pied flycatchers, forestry and open moorland abound. Hinterland usually refers to the intermediate land between the valley bottom and the mountain tops and is the name of a popular crime noir drama filmed in the area; and this day trip will visit some of these stunning, atmospheric locations! During the day there will also be the chance to visit the Rheidol hydroelectric power station and the Bwlch Nant Y Arian forest visitor centre which both provide introductions to major features of the glorious Rheidol valley with its 3 reservoirs and the lush forest.
