The hills of Mid Wales regularly appear in lists of the greatest climbs in Britain and were featured in the Milk Race up until the early 1990s. This tour takes in the Bwlch y Groes (known in English as the Hellfire Pass) and the Devil's Staircase, two formidable ascents that will really test your legs and lungs. If you're looking for your next hill-climbing challenge, this is the tour for you.

Our routes take in sections of the Cambrian Coast, Wild West and the old Trans Cambrian Sportives. As well as the two classic climbs, you will also get to experience the beautiful Lake Vyrnwy, an alpine-style ascent to Nant y Moch reservoir, and the remote splendour of the Cambrian Mountains.

Your base for this tour will be the market towns of Machynlleth (2 nights) and Tregaron (1 night). After the challenge of relentless hills, you'll be treated to the best Welsh hospitality in charming, friendly country hotels. You can look forward to excellent locally-sourced food, plenty of space to relax before and after your rides, and comfortable clean rooms for a good night's sleep.

Day 4

After breakfast, you'll make your way up into the Cambrian Mountains once again. You'll cycle around hill-top lakes, and then start on a fabulous descent along the river Tywi.
