Today we will take the coach up to a site that was recently awarded the Visit Wales Gold Award for providing an excellent visitor experience. Bwlch Nant yr Arian is home to a range of walking trails with something to suit everyone! The routes are of varying lengths and variety of surfaces and all with fantastic views that stretch all the way over the Cambrian mountains and as far as Cardigan Bay. The Barcud trail round the lake is suitable for wheelchairs and has a bird hide overlooking the lake. From here you will be able to view up to 150 Red Kites at the daily Red Kite feeding that the site is famous for. These beautiful birds were introduced to the area in small numbers in 1999 when they were a threatened species and are now thriving, visiting Nant-yr-Arian from a 10-mile radius. For a more challenging walk, the Ridgetop Trail offers panoramic views across the Rheidol and Melindwr valleys, as well as Pumlumon.
