Dyfi Biosphere with Iolo Williams Day Trip - Aberystwyth University

Today, we will travel from the hotel in Aberystwyth to the majestic Elan Valley. Known as the ‘Welsh Lake district’, the Elan Valley boasts five striking reservoirs built during the late 19th and early 20th century within 70-square miles of moorland, bog, woodland, river and reservoirs. It is an internationally important wildlife site, where there are fantastic photographic opportunities to capture several different birds of prey, Kites and Buzzards are almost guaranteed, and the Golden Eagle has been seen in this area. We will tour some of the highlights with an Elan Valley Ranger before stopping for lunch in the Visitor Centre.
