With the Cambrian mountains in the East and the rugged coastline of Cardigan Bay in the West, Mid-Wales offers the full range of picturesque and stunning scenery. Connecting these are the rivers, which run through the heart of the region. This tour follows the course of the River Teifi from its source high in the Cambrian mountains to the Irish Sea.
The highlight of this tour is the ever changing scenery. You will descend at a leisurely pace from a mountain top start, through quiet country lanes alongside lush green pasture before reaching the breathtaking coast. Your itinerary will offer you plenty of time to explore the history of the region as you pass through it including: bronze age settlements, medieval abbeys, woolen mills and the home of welsh coracle fishing. Your route will also give you the opportunity to stop off in the towns of Tregaron, Lampeter, Newcastle Emlyn and Cardigan.
This tour includes a stopover at approximately half the distance along the river and an overnight stay in Cardigan at the end of day two where you can explore the historic town, Poppit Sands or the rugged coastline.
